Diesel fuel prices dipped slightly during the week ending Nov. 5. The nation’s average fell by 1.7 cents to bring the U.S.’ average for a gallon of on-highway diesel to $3.338, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly update.
Prices during the week fell in all regions with the largest decrease being seen in the West Coast less California region, where prices dropped by 2.6 cents, followed by the Midwest region, which saw a 2.4-cent decrease.
The nation’s most expensive diesel can be found in California at $4. 068 per gallon, followed by the West Coast less California region at $3.538 per gallon.
The cheapest diesel can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $3.106 per gallon, followed by the Lower Atlantic region at $3.205 per gallon.
Prices in other regions, according to DOE, are:
- New England – $3.362
- Central Atlantic – $3.498
- Midwest – $3.286
- Rocky Mountain – $3.398
ProMiles’ numbers during the week saw fuel prices fall by 1.9 cents, bringing its national average to $3.28 per gallon.
According to ProMiles’ Fuel Surcharge Index, the most expensive diesel can be found in California at $4.016 per gallon, and the cheapest can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $3.121 per gallon.
