Eaton’s UltraShift Plus automated transmission lineup now includes an A-Ratio model designed for extreme performance applications such as steep grades and extra-heavy payloads. The MXP (Multipurpose Extreme Performance) transmission has higher torque ratings, lower overall numerical ratios and even steps to help improve shift performance and grade shifting while allowing for higher payloads when designed into the appropriate driveline. The A-Ratio transmissions use an electronic clutch actuator to facilitate faster shifting and smoother engagement; at idle, the clutch fully engages for added control. Shift selection software is programmed to use changes in grade, weight and throttle control to calculate the most efficient and effective shift points.
