FreightorGator now sending dynamic LTL rates directly to shippers

image0011FreightorGator, a Kansas City-based online less-than-truckload (LTL) freight exchange, announced that it is delivering dynamic freight rates directly to spot LTL shippers, who are FreightorGator’s customers.

Previously, FreightorGator’s rates were available exclusively in its online freight booking service. Shippers had to visit the online service to view negotiated direct rates and book shipments from some of the industry’s leading LTL carriers.

The company says move is symbolic of Freightorgator’s mission to better serve shippers by applying modern technology.

â€śWe couldn’t be more excited to introduce dynamic freight prices to the industry, and expose these killer rates to our customers,” said Augie Grasis, founder and CEO of FreightorGator. “FreightorGator is taking the first step to more effectively extend the best prices based on supply and demand to shippers.”

The dynamic freight rates can now be delivered directly to FreightorGator’s spot LTL shippers to compare and book in real time. Instead of receiving blanket prices that are only updated periodically, dynamic prices save shippers money because prices are adjusted daily to fill trucks and meet demand.

This effort is indicative of a movement for the logistics industry to implement more sophisticated pricing systems to improve efficiencies and reduce operating costs, the company says.

In its first implementation of dynamic pricing, FreightorGator is extending dynamic rates from YRC, which has been leading the charge in implementing a dynamic pricing system.  FreightorGator has made its competitive rates available, real time to its ever growing user base of LTL shippers.

“This is just the first of multiple relationships our company is forming to provide FreightorGator customers with the best rates and great service from leading carriers,” added Grasis.  “These relationships will include a combination of traditional volume discounts with regional and national carriers, as well as dynamic rates as they become more prevalent.”
