Diesel fuel prices continued their recent slide, falling by an average of 2.1 cents nationally during the week ending Nov. 26, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly report.
The decrease brings the U.S.’ average price for a gallon of on-highway diesel to $3.261. The recent six-week decline has seen prices fall nationally by 13.3 cents from the 2018 high of $3.394 during the week ending Oct. 15.
During the most recent week, prices fell in all regions, with the largest decrease in California, where prices dropped by 3.6 cents.
Despite the decline, California still holds the nation’s most expensive fuel at $3.964 per gallon, followed by the West Coast less California region at $3.455 per gallon.
The cheapest diesel can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $3.035 per gallon, followed by the Lower Atlantic region at $3.145 per gallon.
Prices in other regions, according to DOE, are:
- New England – $3.344
- Central Atlantic – $3.447
- Midwest – $3.185
- Rocky Mountain – $3.339
