GiraffeG4’s low-clearance warning system

Updated Jan 14, 2019

GiraffeG4 Low Clearance Collision Prevention SystemGiraffeG4’s Low Clearance Collision Prevention System is a two-part measuring system consisting of an exterior sensor and an in-cab display unit. The weather-proof and waterproof sensor uses sound waves designed to measure low-clearance obstacles such as bridges, trestles and trees, and the display unit shows the obstacle’s exact height before the truck enters its vicinity. The sensor continues to measure the obstacle’s height as the truck approaches it, and if the clearance is too low, the driver is warned in time to stop with a buzzer and flashing numbers. The system works with tractor-trailers, heavy haulers, car haulers and pilot cars.
