Global 2-Way, a commercial two-way VHF/UHF radio systems specialist in communication and tracking applications, announced that Clear Channel Radio has joined the company’s growing list of network partners. As the largest radio broadcaster in the United States, this agreement increases the number of radio stations offering the Global T-Fleet system from 235 stations to 395 stations.

Global T-Fleet’s low-cost nationwide messaging and tracking system covers more than 80 percent of the nation with 100 percent coverage expected by March 2003, the company says. The Global T-Fleet system consists of a driver terminal, an intelligent transceiver unit and a small whip antenna. The system uses Global 2-Way’s patented digital high frequency (DHF) network and the existing FM radio infrastructure to provide coast-to-coast coverage. Each FM tower covers more than 16 times the area of other terrestrial systems, the company says.
