Household goods moving company Wheaton Van Lines (No. 101 on the CCJ Top 250) announced this week it will acquire another HHG fleet, Stevens Worldwide Van Lines (No. 203).
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. This is the company’s third acquisition since 2012 when it acquired Bekins Van Lines and, a year later, Clark & Reid. Stevens is a mostly owner-operator fleet, according to CCJ Top 250 numbers.
“I think this partnership is a huge opportunity for all parties involved,” said Morrie Stevens Sr., chairman of the board and CEO of Stevens. “Joining the Wheaton Van Lines network gives all of the drivers and agents in the Stevens network more opportunities for growth. I’m particularly excited for our corporate clients that will gain access to more capacity when they need it the most.”
Wheaton in a press release said the Stevens family will continue to own and operate Stevens International Forwarding and Focused Logistics. The three Stevens local agencies in Saginaw, Michigan and Toledo and Cleveland, Ohio, will continue to work under the Stevens Worldwide Van Lines brand and will “maintain a significant hauling fleet within the new network.”
