Detroit Diesel Corp. filed applications with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board for 2010 certification of Detroit Diesel DD13 and DD15 engines with BlueTec emissions control systems. The company also soon will apply for DD16 certification.

Navistar showed members of Congress an all-electric commercial delivery truck built with the help of a $39 million U.S. Department of Energy grant. Navistar intends next year to build 400 of the trucks – which are designed for maximum efficiency in urban environments – and expects within a few years to be producing several thousand vehicles annually.
