When your fleet’s maintenance shop has downtime, it’s almost as costly as when a truck is down over-the-road. At next month’s CCJ Solutions Summit, hear from a fleet that has put its shop to work with outside jobs to keep them busy and bring in extra profits.

Solutions Summit will be held Nov. 18-20 in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Westin Kierland. Registration for the event is available online here.

During a session titled “Setting Up Shop: How to Turn Your Maintenance Department into a Profit Center,” Marc Scibilia and Jeffrey Bronson with Taylor, Michigan-based Atlas Trucking will discuss the challenges and rewards of installing a new business line in the shop. Lew Flowers, president of Flowers Fleet Services, will also speak during the session.

This year, Atlas opened a 73,000 square-feet, three-shift, 24-hour commercial repair facility and has become a maintenance provider for local fleets and drivers, also handling overflow from local dealerships, while still servicing its own equipment. The new business line now accounts for about 25% of the company’s overall revenue.

Other sessions at CCJ Solutions Summit will cover varying aspects of how fleets can adapt in a changing market, including improving your equipment life cycle; losing the customers you lose money on; making money off the data you already generate; and more.

Registration is available here for $395 and includes all conference sessions, food functions, social events and activities. Registration does not include a hotel room. Hotel registration can be booked for a discounted rate during the conference registration process.

Attendees can also choose to register a colleague for $195, which includes full conference registration. A second colleague can be added for $175. Guest registration is also available with no conference access for $150.
