Equipment and maintenance will be the focus of four breakout sessions during CCJ’s Spring Symposium in Asheville, N.C., May 22-24.

Symposium will kick off Monday, May 22, with a golf outing or a tour of the Biltmore, along with a keynote speech by Fast Company magazine editor and managing director Robert Safian.

Beginning Tuesday, May 23, Symposium attendees will have the opportunity to attend 45-minute sessions focusing on maintenance practices to lower CSA scores, making the most of remote diagnostics, maintenance outsourcing strategies and implementing low-viscosity oils.

Tom Fallon, director of safety and training for Ryder, will speak during a session titled “Maintenance Practices to Lower CSA Scores.” During this session, Fallon will touch on reducing exposure to roadside inspections and how to better prepare for them.

Remote diagnostics are proving to reduce downtime with fleets, and a session during Symposium titled “Making the Most of Remote Diagnostics” will dive into a cost/benefit analysis of remote diagnostic software.

Another session to be held during the event, titled “Lowering Maintenance Costs Through Outsourcing Strategies,” will give fleet managers information about lowering their overhead costs by outsourcing larger repairs.

Finally, the “Implementing Low-Viscosity Oils” session will touch on new oils available for fleets. Changing over from a 15W-40 oil to a 5W/10W-30 oil can provide fuel savings without engine degradation.

A full schedule of all topics that will be covered at Symposium can be found here.

Registration for Symposium is available at this link for $1,295 with hotel included, or for $795 without hotel reservations.
