DAT SOLUTIONS LOGOMacroPoint announced that DAT Keypoint has integrated its freight tracking technology. This integration enables brokers using DAT’s Keypoint transportation management software to track freight carried by third-party drivers and for-hire carriers.

MacroPoint is an application that receives automated location updates from a driver’s cell phone of any type, including standard flip phones.

“Because the MacroPoint solution can be deployed on a load-by-load basis, our non-asset-based customers have an extremely cost-effective way to track loads from pickup to delivery,” said Steve Blair, general manager of DAT Keypoint. “Our broker and 3PL customers can now offer their shippers 100 percent visibility, and gain the competitive advantage that goes with that.”

Since MacroPoint does not require in-cab tracking hardware, DAT Keypoint users can track loads for any carrier utilizing a cell phone.

“MacroPoint is excited by the opportunity to integrate our software directly with the DAT Keypoint interface,” says Bennett Adelson, president of MacroPoint. “This direct integration ensures that DAT Keypoint customers now have all the tools they need to enhance their freight tracking accuracy and address any shipping issues in real-time.”
