Mesilla Valley Transportation (No. 72 on the CCJ Top 250) has adopted the Rolling Strong mobile health and wellness app for its company drivers and owner-operators.

The company began testing the program at the beginning of the year and is now offering it as an option to its drivers.

Early adopters are already seeing positive results from using the app to make healthier decisions. Sergio Ayra, an MVT driver, reported to the company he has learned how to lower his blood pressure by 30 points while using the app.

Rolling Strong is also working with the fleet to provide onsite visits to its facilities by CDL wellness coaches who help maintain health and prepare drivers for DOT physicals. Rolling Strong partner higi is also installing health screening stations at four of MVT’s terminals to give drivers easy access to services.

MVT says one of its goals is to help more drivers get two-year medical cards. The company says it is also working with Rolling Strong to use the app’s gamification capability to encourage drivers to get health and wellness assessments to earn points for competitions that will offer prizes to the top drivers.

The Las Cruces, New Mexico-based fleet has over 1,300 trucks and 6,000 trailers.
