Nearly 3,000 Freightliner Cascadia tractors are being recalled by Daimler Trucks North America over an issue with the driver’s side air bags, according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Approximately 2,894 model year 2017-2019 Cascadia trucks manufactured between May 17, 2016, and Nov. 5, 2018, are affected by the recall. Recall documents say the driver’s front air bag may deploy unexpectedly.

DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will modify the wiring leading to the steering wheel clockspring to ensure that it is properly grounded. Owners of affected trucks can contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 with recall number FL800. NHTSA’s recall number is 18V-787.
