Pilot Flying J is launching its One9 Fuel Network that offers small fleets and owner-operators expanded fueling options, as well as flexible credit options and more.Pilot Flying J announced last week it is launching a new fuel network geared toward small fleets and owner-operators with credit options and more fuel stop options.
The company’s new One9 Fuel Network will give smaller trucking companies access to more than 250 additional truck stops by the end of 2020, in addition to the 750-plus truck stops in the Pilot Flying J network. Companies that sign up for the One9 Network will be able to use benefits of the network at all One9 and PFJ locations.
“The truck stop industry as a whole has focused on larger and mid-sized companies as we’ve marketed our diesel products and other services,” said PFJ CEO Jimmy Haslam. “We feel like smaller companies and owner-operators have been underserved by the truck stop companies.”
One of the key factors in the new network is lines of credit for smaller trucking companies. The credit lines will be personalized and flexible based on the small fleet’s or owner-operator’s needs.
“It is critical to support these small fleets and owner-operators with credit,” said PFJ President Ken Parent. “We envision that credit being a very personalized and flexible credit solution with terms and options to help them successfully run their business and help them grow their business, and also save money with no transaction or monthly fees.”
Drivers whose companies are One9 Network members will also be able to take advantage of PFJ’s myRewards loyalty program at all locations and also be able to utilize the PFJ app for mobile fueling and other features.
Truck stops in the One9 Network will often be smaller stops under a variety of brands, including Speedway, Pride, Stamart, Mr. Fuel and more. A full list of One9 Fuel Network locations, as of Nov. 19, can be found here.
“You will see more One9 Network stores out there under a variety of different brands, and most of those will be stops that we’ll buy from existing truck stop operators, or oftentimes we’ll partner with an existing truck stop owner where we’re partners in the stop,” Haslam said. “We would run it, market and supply the diesel fuel.”
Haslam added the new network will give drivers and companies access to smaller stops that might be in markets not big enough to support a full-scale Pilot or Flying j travel center, such as U.S. highway locations.
Drivers and carriers who sign up for the One9 Network can earn two points per gallon at One9 locations when using myRewards at the time of purchase as part of an introductory offer. Additionally, with a 50-gallon diesel purchase, myRewards members will receive a shower credit and a free fountain drink or coffee, which can be redeemed at participating Mr. Fuel, Pride, Stamart, Pilot and Flying J locations.
PFJ also announced that by the end of the year, it will have added 30 new locations in 2019 with more than 1,000 truck parking spaces, bringing the company’s total to more than 75,000 truck parking spaces in the U.S. and Canada. The company also plans to add more One9 Network, Pilot and Flying J locations in 2020.
