Noregon and PeopleNet are extending their relationship to deliver a new all-makes, all-models telematics solution to the trucking industry, the companies announced Tuesday at the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting in Nashville.

Partners since 2009, PeopleNet and Noregon say the initial focus of this expanding collaboration will be to deliver a PeopleNet fault integration solution, with integrated predictive analytics, as part of PeopleNet’s ConnectedFleet platform.

“Predictive analytics applied to remote diagnostics has the potential to transform how fleets manage vehicle uptime and maintenance,” says Tom Fansler, president of Transportation Analytics at PeopleNet. “Our goal is to provide solutions that enable this transformation and change the way our customers think about monitoring their vehicles in real time.”

Speaking on the new solution on Tuesday, PeopleNet’s Tom Dorzaio says the platform will use the resources of both companies to analyze fault codes as they occur in real time, assign severity levels and provide recommended service actions. This will allow fleets to monitor wearing parts and schedule service prior to breakdowns, reducing downtime.

“We routinely heard from fleets that the marketplace lacked a comprehensive solution to their their vehicle data into valuable information,” says Bill Hathaway, founder and CEO at Noregon. “Noregon is extremely excited to work with PeopleNet to offer customers an unprecedented look into the real-time health and safety of their vehicles.”

Dorzaio says the new solution is in use in pilot fleets today and will be rolled out industry wide hopefully later this year. When that time comes, he says the solution will be an optional feature for customers using the PeopleNet ConnectedFleet platform.

Noregon updates JPRO

Noregon also on Tuesday released its 2017 V1 of its JPRO Professional diagnostics software.

“This is the most feature-rich version of JPRO we have ever released,” says Noregon Chief Technology Officer Dave Covington. “We listened to customer feedback and focus on needs within the industry to continue to evolve the software. JPRO users valued our bi-directional tests like DPF regens, so we responded by adding more capabilities that technicians really need to do their jobs, such as ACM resets and cylinder cut outs.”
