A recently-launched online application system available for carriers to use to hire drivers has been updated to allow carriers to remove felony and criminal history questions from driver applications.

MyCDLapp.com says the update is in response to the “Ban the Box” campaign to remove the questions on job applications that ask about criminal history. The company says more than half of states and localities across the U.S. have adopted “Ban the Box” legislation and other laws requiring employers to look at an applicant’s qualifications before their criminal history.

The MyCDLapp service is aimed at small- and medium-sized carriers to offer mobile-friendly online driver applications. The service can accept electronic signatures from any device, the company says.
