SSI Technologies’ smart fuel level sensor measures fuel level without any moving parts. Using ultrasonic sound wave technology to measure fuel volume proportion, the sensor is suitable for use in either cylindrical or rectangular tanks.
It includes a J1708 digital serial interface to provide real-time fuel level information remotely via the truck’s satellite or cellular communications/tracking system. When used with various fuel optimization software programs, it allows operations management to control fuel expenses better from a central planning location.
The unit can be retrofit into existing fuel tanks and is designed to operate at the widest temperature extremes. It’s available with ratio metric voltage or a 4 to 20mA current loop. It can also be ordered with user programmable PWM analog instrument outputs for use with existing fuel gauges.
