The trucking industry has helped raise more than $80,000 for Wreaths Across America this year, which provides remembrance wreaths that will be placed at military veterans’ gravestones on National Wreaths Across America Day in December.

More than 230 people, including trucking executives, industry suppliers, military families and press, attended the annual WAA fundraising gala hosted by the Truckload Carriers Association last week.

The biggest donation of the fundraiser campaign came from the National Association of Independent Truckers and their insurance partner, IAT Insurance Group. The $50,000 donation will help cover fuel costs for owner-operators hauling wreaths during the event.

In addition to TCA, the gala was hosted by Freightliner and Pilot Flying J and sponsored by TravelCenters of America and Petro, DriverFacts, and CCJ’s parent company Randall-Reilly.
