USA Truck (No. 57 on the CCJ Top 250) will soon begin paying higher rates for detention time and short haul. It will also increase performance bonus potential for its drivers.

Beginning Jan. 1, the company will start paying its over-the-road drivers performance bonuses monthly instead of quarterly. Solo, teams and owner-operators with no preventable collisions are eligible for the performance bonuses.

“We are improving the pay scale for detention and short haul, as a way of protecting our drivers from loss of income during unexpected downtime,” said Martin Tewari, USA Truck president of trucking operations. “Also, our over-the-road drivers will see higher potential performance bonuses, up to 5 cents per mile each month, and our driver team members will now enjoy free access to XM Satellite Radio in all units, paid for by USA Truck.”
