In an attempt to battle propane shortages around the country, seven states have suspended hours-of-service requirements for truckers carrying propane to their state. Arizona, Michigan, Connecticut, Maine, Wisconsin, New Mexico and Utah have all issued emergency proclamations that waive hours rules for propane haulers.

Very paradoxal since propane haulers are subject to more severe results in case of accidents. In my opinion the HOS rules are very strict in general but am I the only one who thinks this is not right?
So we value the need for propane on top of safety. There are alternatives to propane but where has the ''safety first'' mentality gone?
