The U.S. average price of a gallon of diesel fuel declined for the second consecutive week, declining 4 cents to $3.897 for the week ending Monday, Aug. 8, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. However, the price was 90.6 cents higher than the same week last year.
Prices in all regions tracked by DOE saw declines. The biggest decline, 6.9 cents, was found in California, where prices fell to $4.067, still the nation’s highest price. The smallest decline, 0.4 cent, was found in the Rocky Mountains, where prices declined to $3.851, the nation’s lowest price.
