Complete Innovations has released a new, fully compliant Android application that automates hours of service and driver vehicle inspection activities.

The new app, Fleet Complete Action Tracker HOS, automatically logs driving hours and calculates driving availability for easier HOS compliance. Drivers can view their available hours, manage duty status and complete vehicle inspection reports on their tablet, the company says.

The app is ready to support the upcoming ‘July 2013’ US FMCSA rule changes. All of the HOS rule tables are configurable in order to simplify adaptation of any future HOS rule changes, the company says.

“By combining our application with Android tablets, we can bring a top-tier automated HOS solution to the cabs of fleets of all sizes at an affordable price point,” says Complete Innovations CEO Tony Lourakis.

Don Herzog, a veteran long-haul trucker and Action Tracker beta user, has been using the app for the past 3 months.

“I find Action Tracker HOS is a great tool for keeping track of my driving hours and preparing vehicle inspection reports,” he said.

He also appreciates the reduction in paperwork: “It saves me about 20 minutes a day just on the logs, and another 10 minutes every day on the DVIRs.  Over my career I’ve used several other onboard computer systems, Action Tracker is the easiest and most comprehensive system I’ve ever seen.”

Fleets can add Action Tracker HOS to their Fleet Complete subscription for $7 per month per vehicle, and the service is available from AT&T for US customers and from Telus for Canadian customers, the company says.

The Action Tracker HOS application is currently available on the Google Play Store
