Iowa officials report Monday, May 7, that Interstate 29 between mile markers 75 and 112 is closed because of extensive Missouri River flooding. Motor carriers are urged to divert trucks from this part of I-29, the north-south route between Sioux City and Omaha, Neb., until further notice.

Detours off I-29 are lengthy and time-consuming, officials say, so truck traffic is advised to avoid this area completely.
