Heniff Transportation Systems, LLC., headquartered in Oakbrook, Ill., has announced its acquisition of Horizon Tank Lines, a leading Southeastern bulk chemical hauler.

Horizon, headquartered in Durham, N.C., has terminals in Wilmington, N.C., and Hamlet, N.C.

“This is truly a fantastic opportunity to provide longevity to our drivers and employees,” said Charles Collie, owner of Horizon Tank Lines. “Bob [Heniff] and I share the same passion – one that provides security to the employees and our customers through our safe, reliable and affordable services on a daily basis.”

The acquisition expands Heniff’s footprint into the Southeast. Heniff now has 13 terminals across the Midwest, Northeast, Central, South and Southeastern United States. The increased scale and market penetration will enable Heniff to continue to provide outstanding customer service, recruit more drivers, improve efficiency and drive synergies across the entire fleet.

“I am really excited about the synergistic benefits for our customers as a result of this acquisition,” said Heniff owner Bob Heniff. “Charles [Collie] has built a great team of safety minded individuals that have proven themselves to be superior to their peers and will definitely help us to achieve our goal to become a top tier service provider in our industry.”
