J.J. Keller has released new online editions of its HazCom:What You Need To Know training program for Spanish- and Canadian French-speaking employees.
The courses, also available in English and in a variety of additional training formats, are part of J. J. Keller’s Training On Demand course offerings, which provides self-paced interactive online training.
With the new HazCom courses, companies can comply with initial and refresher training requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) that incorporates GHS components.
The courses cover GHS hazard classification and categories, along with the chemical inventory, employee training requirements, and the written program.
GHS-style labels are also covered, including the six required label elements and nine pictograms. The courses also cover Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the new GHS-specified 16-section format, so that employees know how to handle, store and dispose of chemicals.
“Changes to the HazCom standard are going to affect all employers,” said Robert A. Ernst, editor of workplace safety content for J. J. Keller. “OSHA’s first compliance date is December 1st of 2013.
