Marten sees 17.6 percent year-over-year income growth

Mondovi, Wis.-based Marten Transport, in a release of its third quarter data, says it made $6.5 million in net income in the third quarter of 2012, a 2.9 percent increase from  its $6.3 million 2011 third quarter. That brings the company’s 2012 total net income to $19.5 million, up from $16.6 million from the same time last year — a 17.6 percent increase. It is the company’s tenth consecutive year-over-year increase in quarterly profitability. 

The company’s operating revenue increased to $163.6 million in the third quarter, up from $156.3 million in the same quarter last year, bringing the year-to-date total to $472 million, up from $445.3 million in the same nine-month period in 2011.
