Polar Service Centers announced that it now is installing Jarco propane bobtails at its locations in Sacramento, Houston and Spartanburg, S.C. Jarco, a Polar company, will supply the facilities with new and refurbished propane tanks and installation kits built at its factory in Salem, Ill. The Salem location also will perform bobtail installations and change-outs primarily for customers in the U.S. Midwest.

“With four locations doing the work, we can install Jarco bobtails wherever it makes the most sense for the customer,” says Mike Evans, president of Polar Service Centers. “That’s a big advantage to propane marketers and distributors who want a consistent level of quality and service and more control over vehicle-transportation costs.”

Polar says personnel in Sacramento, Houston and Spartanburg have been trained and equipped to perform bobtail installations and change-outs, and that its service centers in West Chester, Pa., Minneapolis and Spokane, Wash., have bobtail sales specialists in-house to coordinate specifications with the Jarco factory and chassis manufacturer. “These are the next logical steps in our continuing effort to leverage the Polar Service Center network for Jarco customers,” says Evans. “Offering bobtail installations at these locations also makes PSC a stronger service organization overall.”

Polar Service Centers has 28 locations in the United States and is dedicated to companies that haul dry and liquid bulk freight; it acquired Jarco in November 2010. “We have the wherewithal to more readily accept trades, produce more stock units, develop contract maintenance programs and maintain local parts inventories,” Evans says. “This has tremendous appeal to propane marketers and delivery fleets.”
