Preliminary data for Class 8 truck sales in North America shows the highest level of net orders since the start of the year — 23,200 units — on both an actual and seasonally adjusted scale, according to industry research firm ACT Research. Prelim data for Class5-7 vehicles shows 18,500 net orders, the highest seasonally adjusted level since April 2011. On an actual orders basis, the number of Class 5-7 vehicle orders were their highest in 56 months.

Final numbers will be released in the middle of the month.
