Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. announced that its manufacturing plant in Glade Spring, Va., participated in the achievement of United Way of Russell and Washington Counties’ 2010 campaign goal of $1 million. Each year, Utility’s Glade Spring manufacturing plant is active in making contributions to the United Way fund, which is into area communities.

“With the recent economic downturn, many in our area have lost their jobs, and we recognize the positive support United Way has within our community to help those who are unemployed and less fortunate,” says Jack Washburn, Utility’s Glade Spring plant manager.

Utility’s Glade Spring plant employees have the option to contribute any dollar amount and have it deducted automatically from their payroll checks. The plant’s 325 employees collectively raised more than $20,000. “The Utility Trailer Glade Spring facility employees have always been generous in their support of United Way,” Washburn says. “I am amazed and humbled by the generosity of our employees.”
