Volvo Trucks debuted this week the second installment of its popular “Welcome to My Cab” series recently featuring Tim Baumgartner, owner of a heavy-duty towing operation, and his award-winning “Freedom Flyer,” a patriotic-themed Volvo VNL.

Baumgartner, a veteran of the Vietnam War and founder and owner of Crockett’s Interstate Towing in Eugene, Oregon, customized his Volvo VNL to feature the American Flag, eagles, soldiers and other military elements. The truck has earned several truck beauty awards and typically participates in several parades each year.

“I’ve got 1.2 million miles on this truck,” Baumgartner said. “It’s just a class ride.”

The “Welcome to My Cab” series offers professional truck drivers a way to show their appreciation of large trucks and inspire others. Volvo drivers can click here to enter for a chance to be featured.

“The latest episode of ‘Welcome to My Cab’ adds to the momentum of this worthwhile program highlighting professional truck drivers and their passion for trucks and the road,” said Magnus Koeck, Volvo Trucks vice president, marketing and brand management. “We hope many more drivers will invite us to learn about their trucks and their livelihoods, which are so vital to the economy and our daily lives.”
