YRC Freight announced its selection as the 2011 Carrier of the Year by DM Transportation, the largest inbound freight management company in the United States. The award is based on a staff survey and a variety of factors, including on-time service, claims performance, ease of doing business, pricing flexibility and technology.

“We appreciate the vote of confidence shown in us by DM Transportation,” said Jeff Rogers, president of Overland Park, Kan.-based YRC Freight. “They are a valued partner, and we’re very optimistic our partnership will only grow stronger.”

“DM Transportation began as a service provider to the direct marketing industry, and this is where they found their niche to manage inbound vendor programs,” said Joe King, corporate account executive at YRC Worldwide. “Over the last few years, we solidified our partnership with them and have seen significant business growth. We have consistently demonstrated we understand their business and have the ability to provide creative solutions to their clients’ complex shipping challenges.”

DM Transportation is the third third-party logistics provider to recognize YRC Freight for carrier excellence in 2012; the company also received a Carrier of the Year award from NASSTRAC.
