Aether Systems announced the launch of GeoLogic, an event-driven, exception-based satellite asset monitoring system. Aether also announced that U.S. Xpress Enterprises has agreed to deploy the system on its fleet of more than 12,000 trailers. Earlier, Aether had announced that U.S. Xpress would equip its fleet of 5,500 trucks with Aether MobileMax, replacing its existing satellite-only system with Aether’s multi-mode wireless communications and tracking solution.

“Event-driven information and exception reporting are exactly what we need to manage our large trailer fleet more effectively, and gain the visibility to become more proactive,” says Max Fuller, co-chairman of U.S. Xpress, regarding the decision to use Aether’s trailer monitoring system.

The GeoLogic solution incorporates “geo-fences” and pre-determined events such as arrivals, departures, trailer entry and disconnection from the truck to help with mission critical and secure load planning, Aether says.

GeoLogic is part of Aether’s product line for asset tracking and management, which includes Aether MobileMax, Aether TrailerMax and Aether 20/20v, the nationwide vehicle location and management solution Aether announced in February 2002.
