Bison Transport driver Ajay Toor has been named a Highway Angel by the Truckload Carriers Association for helping a fellow trucker who was hit by a passing vehicle.

According to TCA, on Sept. 5, 2016, Toor saw lights flashing in the distance while driving, and as he approached, saw they were the flashers of a car belonging to a young couple who were standing near an injured trucker. The driver was on the ground with a flashlight in his hand.

The couple told Toor the trucker had been crossing the road when a passing vehicle hit him and drove away. The injured driver told Toor he was cold, so he retrieved a blanket and a first aid kit from his truck. Despite using Toor’s blanket, the driver was still struggling with the cold while waiting on emergency medical services. The driver’s truck keys were missing, so he gave Toor permission to break his window to get a thicker blanket.

For his willingness to help the driver, Toor was presented with a certificate, patches, lapel pin and truck decals. Bison Transport also received a certificate acknowledging their driver has been recognized as a TCA Highway Angel.
