Big Rigs, by Stan Holzman, is a 160-page volume portraying the history of all the major U.S. and Canadian Class 8 truck builders. Available from Voyageur Press, it features 275 photos, most of them in color. Many are attractive reproductions of older trucks and early promotional materials including both brochures and magazine ads.
The book also describes the histories of many well-known individual truck models. The 17 truck builders portrayed include GMC and Federal, as well as a brief recap of seven obscure makes. The volume is fully indexed and is available from bookstores, gift shops and online publishers.
