In “Electronic surveillance for tires,” (CCJ, June 2001), our contributing editor reported on Bridgestone/Firestone’s Tire Management 2000, without mentioning that it is a tire tracking software product designed exclusively for off-road tires. According to Don Darden, communications manager, commercial tire marketing, Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Sales Company, Nashville, Tenn., “We do have a tire tracking software package, called Market Profiler, but this is used exclusively by our company’s own sales reps to track tire wear, cost per mile, etc., on behalf of our fleet customers. It is not a product that Bridgestone/Firestone currently sells or distributes, due to the complexities of interpreting the results.” CCJ regrets any confusion this error may have caused.
