Mirror Lite’s Northwind wiper heater warms frozen wiper blades through the windshield via direct-contact radiant strips.
The heating strips adhere to the inside of the glass opposite the parked wiper blades, thawing the blades and the glass around them. The Northwind is also effective in rainy weather because heated blades prevent wiper blade hydroplaning. The company reports that the Northwind reduces wear and tear and extends wiper blade life.
Northwind’s heating elements are sealed in clear Mylar material and do not restrict drivers’ line of sight. Installation involves a 12-volt cigarette lighter connection and the application of two “peel and stick” radiant strips.
