The Sta-Rat, or semi-tandem axle release assist tool makes pulling off a tandem slide easier, the company says.
When applied to the tandem release handle, the Sta-Rat applies a constant pulling force so that as the driver moves the truck to release the binding on the pins, Sta-Rat pulls them free of the rails. Once released, Sta-Rat holds the pins retracted while the trailer is repositioned on the tandems.
The foot of the Sta-Rat rotates to accommodate the majority of release mechanisms available and will work on trailers with vertical or horizontal release handles. The foot can also be used to pull the fifth wheel release handle. The Sta-Rat measures 23.5 inches long.
