Diesel prices edge upward

Diesel fuel prices rose a fraction of a penny, from $2.342 to $2.348 a gallon, for the week ending Aug. 1.

This rise followed two weeks of dropping prices. The record level, set this summer, was $2.41.

West Coast diesel increased to $2.594. East Coast fuel dropped to $2.356. The Midwest had the week’s lowest prices, unchanged at $2.292. Rocky Mountain region prices were $2.421, and Gulf Coast prices were $2.279.
