Safefreight opens U.S. headquarters in Portland, Ore.

Safefreight Technology, a developer and provider of homeland security and fleet management technologies, announced the opening of its U.S. headquarters in Portland, Ore. and named James Balestra chief operating officer in charge of U.S. operations.

Balestra, an adviser to Safefreight since 2002, has more than 25 years of senior management experience in domestic and international transportation, logistics and supply chain management and has worked with some of the world’s largest transportation service providers, including Consolidated Freightways, CNF (Con-Way, Menlo Logistics, Emery), Roadway, American President Lines, BAX Global and AmeriCold Logistics.
