Springfield interchange project to cause lane closures

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, various parts of Interstate 495 near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge will close through Friday, Aug. 19.

The shoulder and a single lane of the Outer Loop of I-495 East, from Van Dorn Street to Braddock Street, will be closed. The shoulder and a single lane of the inner looping, eastbound part of I-495 will close Thursday, Aug. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The same stretch of road will be closed through Thursday, Aug. 18, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., each day.

The northbound lanes of I-95/395 and the ramp from I-395 North to the I-495 North Inner Loop will close Thursday, Aug. 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The shoulder and a single lane of I-95 North, from Franconia-Springfield Parkway to Edsall Road, will close Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The I-95/395 northbound lanes, and the ramp from I-395 North to the Inner Loop, will see a single lane closed through Thursday, Aug. 18, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The shoulder and a single lane of I-395/95 South will close through Thursday, Aug. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon.
