Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue has appointed Jerry W. Bowman, president and COO of Cardinal Logistics Management Corp., to the board of directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, which works to improve the state’s mobility, air quality and land use practices.

Bowman will work with his fellow GRTA board members to assist Perdue’s office in developing comprehensive transportation policies for Georgia. Bowman also will partner with a number of state and regional agencies — including the Georgia Department of Transportation, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, the Atlanta Regional Commission, the State Road and Tollway Authority and more than 80 governments in a 13-county non-attainment area — to prioritize transportation plans and programs by cooperatively establishing investment priorities and resource allocations.

“I’m honored to have been selected by Governor Perdue to serve on the GRTA board,” said Bowman. “I look forward to working with this organization to achieve the governor’s and GRTA’s mission of advocating and implementing a transportation system for Georgia that is multi-modal, seamless and accessible to all.”
