Anderson Trucking to expand international service

Anderson Trucking Service plans to expand its international service offerings through its newest operating subsidiary, ATS International Services.

ATS — a private, family-owned carrier based in St. Cloud, Minn. — has worked 15 years in the Puerto Rico/Caribbean trade as an asset-based carrier operating as ICE International. This service will continue and will focus on the development of that specific trade lane.

ATS International says it plans the same seamless, single-source service provided by ICE, with staffing that is experienced in the international arena: Many of the staff members have in excess of 20 years in freight forwarding/NVOCC, customs brokerage and chartering services.

ATS International is engaged in various overseas projects, including wind energy, pharmaceutical and power generation plant construction; these are in addition to a number of corporate accounts for which ATS manages general commodities. Most recently, ATS and ATS International have been awarded the transportation contract of a wind energy project, managing all components from various foreign and domestic manufacturing facilities to the project job site.

“As an asset-based company, ATS can provide a proficient level of control and cost,” says Joe Goering, ATS vice president and general manager. “We want to add value to the marketplace, offering seamless door-to-door domestic and international support. With our 50 years of service excellence as a quality domestic heavy-haul carrier, the international connection was the next obvious and ‘customer-driven’ direction we had to follow.”
