Landstar names Bean 2005 Employee of the Year

Landstar System has named Cheryl Bean Employee of the Year for 2005. Bean, a brokerage sales coordinator, epitomizes the best of the best among the 24 employees at Landstar’s Rockford, Ill. and Jacksonville, Fla. service centers who were selected employee of the month during 2005.

“We’re all incredibly proud of Cheryl,” says Teri Schoepski, Landstar’s vice president of brokerage services and Bean’s supervisor. “She has exceptional talent and leadership skills, a can-do attitude and goes out of her way to help just about everyone.”

This award marks the third time that Bean has been recognized for her contribution to Landstar since she joined the company in September 2001. She was employee of the month for the company’s Rockford service center in November 2003 and May 2005.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have someone as dedicated and talented as Cheryl as an employee,” says Henry Gerkens, Landstar president and chief executive officer. “Her professionalism helps make Landstar the industry leader it is.”

Bean lives in Winnebago, Ill., with her husband, Richard, and their three children.
