Diesel price up another 1.7 cents

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel increased 1.7 cents for the week ending Monday, Jan. 30, to $2.489, almost 50 cents more than a year ago.

The average diesel price increased in all regions tracked by the U.S. Department of Energy, except for New England, where the price dropped by less than a penny. The biggest increase, almost 4 cents, was in the Rocky Mountains, from $2.435 to $2.474.
