Maximus — a provider of consulting, health and human services program management, and information technology services — has announced it has signed a contract with AAA Cooper Transportation (ACT) of Alabama. ACT will implement FleetFocus, Maximus’ fleet management software solution.

ACT is a regional LTL trucking firm serving 12 southeastern states and Puerto Rico plus the industrial areas of Chicago, Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Louisville, Ky. ACT, which also provides trailer load brokerage and dedicated services, meets customer needs for international services to and from the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada and Alaska through Partner Carriers. The company has 78 terminals in the Southeast to allow its customers to receive next-day and two-day service between points, and about 10,000 equipment units, 38 shops and 200 technicians.

“We needed to better track and control our parts and inventory,” says Heath Griffith, inventory/systems manager of ACT. “After looking at several software companies, we finally decided on FleetFocus, which gives us the forecasting capabilities that will allow us to prepare for the future in a way that we have never been able to. FleetFocus will keep ACT on the forefront of new technology and will give our customers the quality they have come to expect from us.”

Maximus says the ACT contract further strengthens its position in the over-the-road trucking vertical market, with 10 of the 40 largest trucking companies using the company’s solution. Other trucking customers include Schneider National, Yellow/Roadway, FedEx Freight, Con-Way Transportation Services, Overnite Transportation, US Freightways and Watkins Motor Lines.

“AAA Cooper Transportation’s legacy is all about exceptional quality, customer service and reliability,” says John Hines, president of the asset solutions division of Reston, Va.-based Maximus. “We are excited to assist them in achieving new levels of efficiency and accuracy when it comes to managing their fleet and improving service delivery to their customers.”
