Speed Crank designed for fast landing gear locking

Austin-Westran says its Speed Crank, a hand crank for landing gear, dramatically improves the performance over standard cranks. According to the company, Speed Crank locks into position by automatically engaging the input shaft when lifted to the crank position, which allows for easy shifting and wobble-free operation.

Speed Crank won’t disengage from the input shaft when shifting and won’t come off the input shaft when cranking the landing gear, Austin-Westran says. Speed Crank can be stowed by pulling back on the locking device and folding the crank down; when unlocked, the crank has automatic crank retention for storing, and no crank hanger is required, the company says.
