The Lubricants University educational website, sponsored by the Chevron Products Co., is offering two new courses, “Fundamentals of Lubricant Additives” and “Base Oils,” as part of its educational online training. The two modules are self-study, Web-based programs designed for lubricant resellers, industrial end users, compounders, blenders and individuals interested in expanding their knowledge of lubricant formulation.

The “Fundamentals of Lubricant Additives” course covers the primary additives used in lubricant formulations and explains the basic functions and applications. The course helps lubricant resellers and industrial end users understand the role additives play in a finished product, and why different products are used in different applications. The “Base Oils” course covers base oils manufacturing, how performance is measured and why different oils are selected for specific applications.

Both training courses use animation and are interactive. Each course offers a certificate of completion. Courses are available to the general public and cost $59.95 each. To purchase a course by credit card, call the Chevron Fulfillment Center at 866-758-2378. For more information, go to www.lubricantsuniversity.com.
