Regional trucking company Heartland Express announced Monday, April 17 that first-quarter earnings expanded 31 percent. Net income increased to $19.7 million, up from year-ago earnings of $15.1 million.
Gains of $2.7 million from the trade-in of revenue equipment boosted results for the Coralville, Iowa company in the recent quarter. Revenue grew 14 percent to $135 million from $118.7 million in the year-earlier period.
