SafeData — a technology company focused on helping companies protect their data, minimize downtime and recover and restore data quickly — has announced it has signed an agreement with Celadon Trucking Services. SafeData will be providing Celadon with its high-availability solution, SafeData/HA.

“Celadon is recognized in the trucking industry as being a leader in technology,” says Peter Briggs, president of Warwick, R.I.-based SafeData. “Using a satellite-based tracking system in all of its trucks as well as other sophisticated technologies, it is critical that Celadon’s systems are up and running at all times. SafeData/HA will reduce Celadon’s downtime in the event of a system failure from 24 to 36 hours with its hot-site solution to less than two hours. We are proud to have been selected by such a technologically astute company.”

Using replication technologies, SafeData is designed to create and maintain a mirror of its clients’ systems in its data centers. During either planned or unplanned downtime, The solution is a high-availability service that provides a switchable “mirror” of a company’s data and applications guaranteeing continuity in two hours or less, according to SafeData.

“We are dedicated to providing our clients with service and quality that is unmatched in the industry,” says Michael Gabbei, chief information officer for Indianapolis-based Celadon. “As a technology-driven company, the availability of our systems is essential, and our hot-site solution was not meeting our needs. We evaluated many solutions, and it was SafeData’s top-notch disaster recovery facility in Medford, Massachusetts, and its strong knowledge of both business and technology, especially in the iSeries and iTera solutions, that made SafeData/HA far outweigh our other options.”
