Decker Truck Line has announced a wage increase for company drivers. First, refrigerated and van division drivers will receive 3-cent-per-mile increases to their rates effective May 1, with another increase that will go into effect on Sept. 1. Second, to reward drivers’ longevity with the company, Decker has added pay increase levels to the seniority pay schedule that extend seniority wage increases into a driver’s seventh and eighth years with the company.

Decker also announced a limited-time sign-on bonus for reefer/van drivers; from May 1 through Aug. 31, experienced drivers can earn up to $4,000 in sign-on bonuses. Special credit will be given to drivers that have more than three years of verifiable OTR experience; these drivers will start out with a $2,000 sign-on bonus, and can earn up to $1,000 for additional verifiable experience. These same drivers can earn an additional $1,000 based upon their longevity with their previous employer prior to joining Decker, for a possible total of $4,000 in sign-on bonus money. By adding the 3-cent-per-mile pay increase, drivers could earn up to $70,000 per year, Decker says.
